30 DAY DOCTOR WHO CHALLENGE- Day Five:Favourite Historical Character

Madame De Pompadour (Reinette), William Shakespeare and Vincent Van Gogh.

“The monsters and The Doctor. It seems you cannot have one without the other.” - Reinette

Foul Carrionite specters, cease your show, between the points… 761390! Banished like a tinker’s cuss, I say to thee…Expelliarmus!” - William Shakespeare

‘You know, it seems to me there’s so much more to the world than the average eye’s allowed to see. I believe, if you look hard, there are more wonders in this universe than you could ever have dreamed of.’ - Vincent Van Gogh

30 DAY DOCTOR WHO CHALLENGE- Day Four:Favourite Quote

“I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s ok we’re all stories in the end; just make it a good one, eh? Cause it was you know? It was the best, a daft old man who stole a magic box, and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it I was always going to take it back. Oh that box, Amy you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you, big and little at the same time, brand new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had eh? Would’ve had, never had. In your dreams they’ll still be there, The Doctor and Amy Pond: and the days that never came.”

The Eleventh Doctor in The Big Bang.

30 DAY DOCTOR WHO CHALLENGE- Day Three:Favourite Episode

Vincent & The Doctor - The only episode I can watch time after time and it still is as beautiful as the first time I watched it. I adore this episode so much.

“Van Gogh is the finest painter of them all. Certainly the most popular, great painter of all time. The most beloved, his command of colour most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world, no one had ever done it before. Perhaps no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange, wild man who roamed the fields of Provence was not only the world’s greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived.”

30 DAY DOCTOR WHO CHALLENGE- Day Two:Favourite Companion

Martha Jones

I loved Martha ever since she first appeared on Smith and Jones. She was training to be a Doctor which meant she wanted to make something of herself. Martha had aspirations that she wanted to meet. She’s the cleverest of all the NewWho companions in my opinion. A hospital landed on the moon and Martha didn’t panic, she realised straight away that the windows weren’t air-tight and didn’t even think twice about stepping outside. The Doctor called her brilliant during their first proper conversation. She gave her -what could of been- last breath to The Doctor in an attempt to save everybody in the hospital.

Throughout the rest of the episodes in the series Martha always looked after herself. She also saved The Doctors life plenty of times too. Martha like all of the companions was put into situations that you would never dream of been put in. She was faced with all kind of new forms of life and places to explore. Within the first trip Martha had adapted to her new surroundings and she was finding ways to deal with it. In Gridlock, Martha made The Doctor tell her about the Time War and it wasn’t like he needed too much persuading. Martha was the first person The Doctor opened up to about his past, he never even told his ‘beloved’ Rose.

During Human Nature/Family of Blood, Martha is left to look after herself in 1913 whilst having to watch over The Doctor. Martha had to deal with racist comments been thrown at her BY TEENAGE BOYS. John Smith even spoke to her like she was some kind of alien at times and he truly deserved that slap. Martha was jealous over the relationship forming between Joan and John but wouldn’t you be? Seeing the man you’ve spent so long trying to get to notice you go after somebody else. Once The Doctor came back, did Martha become angry with him? No. She offered to go speak to Joan. Remembering Martha is in love with The Doctor, she is actually offering to check if his ‘lover’ is okay. Then in Blink, Martha got her own job TO SUPPORT The Doctor.

Martha’s greatest moments come through the Series 3 finale when she WALKS THE EARTH IN ONE YEAR to save planet Earth, to save The Doctor and her family. ALL ON HER OWN. NO HELP. She ruins The Masters plan but takes no credit for it except the “I am good.” She tells the people “But if Martha Jones became a legend then that’s wrong, because my name isn’t important.” Martha takes no credit at all and gives it all to The Doctor. She has saved the world but doesn’t want any thanks or anything. Martha is just glad her family are safe. Martha then finishes her BAMF of a year off by CHOOSING TO LEAVE The Doctor, she gets out. She doesn’t want to be second best to Rose, The Doctor or anybody else. The Doctor didn’t deserve Martha and I think he only came to realise how important she was one she left. Also, The Doctor agreed to answer Marthas call if she needed him. He only answers his phone to one other person which was Brigadier and he worked for UNIT.

Martha also gets on amazingly with Donna even though The Doctor thinks they’ll argue. She is so happy when she finds out that The Doctor and Rose found each other. Not jealous. Happy. Her time whilst working for Torchwood was one of my favourites. At Torchwood she showed her full potential and was actually noticed for it by several people including fellow BAMF Gwen Cooper.

So Martha is NOT clingy, desperate, dull or full of herself. She is clever, brave, worthy and AMAZING. Her only fault is that she married Mickey and not Tom but let’s not go there.

I also want her to appear alongside Eleven just to see what their friendship would be like and if Eleven would apologise. OMG WANT.

“The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good don’t always soften the bad things but vice versa, the bad things don’t necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant.”
